Apple WWDC 2010: iPad is a Huge Success
June 7, 2010 11.55AM by Dan from PCworld.com
Apple CEO Steve Jobs arrived at WWDC 2010 in San Francisco today. He appeared on stage at the WWDC to a huge applause, and decided to go right to work with Apple’s latest success – the Apple iPad. The iPad has been a huge success for Apple, and it was the first thing Jobs wanted an iPad-obsessed audience to know at this year’s WWDC. With WWDC sold out in 8 days, to over 5,000 people, they love to hear about a success story, and with the iPad, there is almost no competition.

It certainly is magical, as Apple have sold over 2 million iPad’s so far, and according to statistics, that is one every three seconds. It is now shipping in over ten countries, and Apple wants to prove that they’ve got a revolution on their hands by showing the WWDC audience a video reel of the great coverage the iPad has gotten worldwide.
Additionally, there are now over 8,500 native iPad apps in the App Store. Apps account for 35 million downloads in two months, or about 17 apps per iPad sold. And also the use of the iBooks, that have been out for 65 days with 5million sales already. Astonishing. The guys behind Wolfram Associates’ Elements says he made more on the app in the first day of the iPad launch than five years of Google Ads.
As more news comes in about the conference, we will keep you updated with practically any interesting breaking news, so stay tuned.
